Sony Ericsson has just added 3 new handsets to its current mobile phone lineup at the Communicasia show in Singapore. The three handsets are namely the Xperia Ray, Xperia Active and a full QWERTY keyboard style Txt.
First off is the Xperia Ray which may look familiar to those who own the Xperia X10 and it also uses some design cues from the its recently released Xperia Arc as well. This phone comes loaded with an 8.1 MP autofocus camera with Exmor R sensors which are capable of capturing 720p video, front facing camera, a scratch resistant 3.3" BRAVIA screen (854 x 480 pixels) and Sony Ericsson's own Timescape UI. Four colours will be made available and they are gold, white, black and pink.

Check out the other two handsets after the jump.
Next up is the Xperia Active which is basically a ruggedized handset similar to Motorola's Defy which is designed for the more sporty or active users. This handset sports a 3 inch scratch resistant display with a 320 x 240 pixel resolution, water resistant (of under 1m of water for up to 30 minutes) and is also dustproof.

The Xperia Active runs on the standard issue 1Ghz Snapdragon processor which can be found on most of today's modern Android smartphones, has a 5 MP camera with LED flash and is capable of 720p video recording running on Android 2.3 aka Gingerbread. There's also the standard onboard GPS, Bluetooth and barometer built into this phone which would come in handy for joggers to plan and track their jogging/running routes. The Xperia Active will come in white or orange with a black back cover.
Finally, the Sony Ericsson Txt. The Txt is essentially a full sized QWERTY based keyboard phone with a 2.6" (non-touch based) screen display. Similar to the Nokia E72 and Blackberry series, this phone is meant for the social media crowd. Other than that there's not much info on this device at the moment. This handset will come in four colors - black, white, blue and pink.

Sony Ericsson has disclosed that the Xperia Ray and Xperia active will be made available in Q3 2011 but only for selected markets (for the Xperia Ray, Japan will definitely be getting it). The same goes for the txt, it will be available in selective markets somewhere in Q4 of 2011. At this moment there are no pricing information for all 3 handsets. Guess we have to wait for that.
