With the upcoming Galaxy Tab 10.1 featuring the TouchWiz UI making its appearance for the firsts time in HoneyComb, Samsung's Youtube channel has a new video which shows off all the features of the new Galaxy Tab 10.1 and also the TouchWiz UI. Check out the video below:
The new TouchWiz UI looks great on HoneyComb but this begs a question - will this further delay future firmware updates? When Google created HoneyComb, the idea was that the OEMs should not need to create any custom UIs for it in order to speed up the firmware updates which is one of the biggest issues that pre-android 3.0 versions are still facing especially those with custom UIs such as HTC sense, TouchWiz and so on. Is Samsung actually taking a step back by introducing a custom UI for HoneyComb when other manufacturers such as Motorola and Asus aren't? Only time will tell on how significant the delay on firmware updates will be.
However, I must commend Samsung for doing a great job with the video, they really did a great job in going through all the features of their new tablet and the TouchWiz UI does look good indeed. Will the Galaxy Tab dethrone the current best selling Asus EEE Pad Transformer? We'll know soon enough in a few months once the sales figures starts showing up.
