Panasonic's own E-reader/tablet, the Raboo UT-PB1 was pretty much under the radar, even the specs were not known during its unveiling some weeks ago. Some of the specifications have been revealed and the Raboo UT-PB1 sporst a dual-core CPU of unknown origin, 8 GB of internal storage, standard Wifi, Bluetooth, microSD support. Unfortunately, the e-reader is well, not meant to be a tablet just yet, but it could probably change during the launch in Japan on the 10th of August.
You're also pretty much stuck with the XMDF file format which is proprietary to the Rakuten e-book store when purchasing e-books. We're not sure if this device will sell well, but Panasonic appears to be targeting e-book readers (naturally) and is trying to compete with Amazon's own kindle and also Barnes and Noble's nook reader. Head on over to the source below for a video as well if you're interested.
