HTC Runnymede Revealed With Beats Audio

Remember just a short while back that HTC made a sizeable investment (to the point of acquisition) on Dr Dre's Beats Electronics? HTC has revealed a phone that they're currently developing which includes Beats Audio technology called "Runnymede". The HTC RunnyMede is a 4.7 inch display smartphone - a huge one indeed back when people used to say 4 inches was huge now we're going to have a 4.7 inch one. Here are the specs of RunnyMede:

  • 4.7-inch, 480×800 display
  • 1.5GHz single-core MSM8255 (same CPU as Flyer)
  • 768MB of RAM / 16GB of storage
  • Eight-megapixel / 720p rear-camera with dual flashes & 1.3-megapixel front-facing webcam
  • under 10 millimeters thick
  • Sense 3.5
  • DLNA
  • Bundled Beats headphones (not earphones)
  • Android 2.3.4

Specs are nothing to shout about but the best part is of course the beats audio technology which is integrated with the device which also features SRS Surround and dual microphones. The camera is also expected to record at a 60 FPS rate which is double what the average smartphone can do. No word on pricing or a release date yet, so stay peeled.
