Sony Ericsson has announced a new upcoming handset called the Xperia Arc S which is an upgraded version of the Xperia Arc running on the latest build of Gingerbread. There aren't many changes or improvements to the handset versus the original Xperia Arc - it still sports the brilliant 4.2" Reality Display with BRAVIA Engine, the same 8.1MP camera but this time, it gets a cool new 3D panorama photography capability and also an increased processor speed from 1 Ghz to 1.4 Ghz.
The new 3D panorama capability allows you to take 3D panorama shots from the Xperia Arc S and you can then view the footage by connecting the phone to your 3D HDTV via a HDMI cable accessory. That's pretty much the most obvious differences in the new handset - no word on whether the RAM will be increased from the measly 512 MB to 1 GB or more. From the pictures above the design is pretty much the same as the original Xperia Arc with its "curved" profile at the middle and still looks as slick as ever. No word on pricing yet but we know that it's coming soon in October, so stay tuned.
