Toshiba Announces 7 Inch Thrive & Hands On Video

Toshiba has just announced a 7 inch version of their Thrive tablet which is a surprise indeed and it is just in time for the holidays. The 7 inch thrive packs pretty much the same specs as its 10.1 inch brother with a Tegra 2 onboard, 5 MP rear shooter and 2 MP front facing camera but unlike its bigger sized sibling, the back cover is not removable to make up for the smaller form factor.

You won't be getting full-sized ports either but instead you'll be getting a different selection - mini-USB, microHDMI, headphone jack, docking connector and also a microSD slot. The 7 inch Thrive runs on the latest Android 3.2 and it is completely unskinned so you'll be getting the original HoneyComb experience on this one, untouched.

No exact pricing  has been announced but a Toshiba rep has mentioned that there will be both 16GB and 32GB models on sale this coming December and priced less than $400. That's all the info we have, you can check out the hands-on video from Engadget and head on over to their site for more info and pictures of the 7 inch Thrive:
