Viewsonic has just released the ViewPad 7e, another sub-$200 tablet to fight fire with fire against Amazon's Kindle Fire which seems to have started a trend lately for cheap tablets at the $200 or below price point. Not that you should be complaining as the ViewPad 7e runs on a 1 Ghz CPU, has a 7 inch 800x600 resolution screen, front and rear shooters rated at 2MP and 3MP respectively and the ViewScene 3D interface on top of Android 2.3 AKA Gingerbread.
Just like the Kindle Fire it comes preloaded with Amazon Services such as the Amazon App Store & Mp3 Store but there's no mention on whether it comes with the Android Market or otherwise. The ViewPad 7e comes with 4GB of internal storage and has a microSD slot that is expandable up to 32 GB. Priced at $199, this tablet is slated for release in North America at the end of this month while Latin America will get it shortly after that in November.
