Google Docs & Reader Updated

Google has updated both the Google Docs & Google Reader apps to bring in some ICS UI updates and other UI improvements and better tablet support as well. Google docs came with the following changes:

  • Optimized experience for tablet users, Honeycomb (Android 3.0+)
  • Three-panel interface for improved browsing
  • Details panel showing a thumbnail and sharing information
  • Improved sharing experience with autocomplete system
  • Landscape and portrait mode
  • Improved video playback

On the other hand Google Reader didn't have much changes but adds in the useful swipe gestures to the Reader:

  • Swipe left/right to navigate
  • Updated user interface and widgets for Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich)
  • Removed features that are now offered by Google+ (sharing, following, etc.)
