ICS Goodies All Around!

This post will be packed with ICS goodies all around - 3 to be exact so lets get started. First off, as we all know - the folks at CyanogenMOD have already started work on CyanogenMOD 9 which is the version of CyanogenMOD for ICS, skipping version 8 entirely because the HoneyComb source code was never made available publicly until recently.

The good news is that CyanogenMOD's founder, Steve Kondik has announced that CM 9 with ICS will be coming to the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 which is great news indeed for those who own the tablet. But you might be wondering, why the Galaxy Tab 10.1? Why not the Xoom or the EEE Pad Transformer? The answer is simple - remember that Steve is now working for Samsung? Well now you know why.

The second ICS "goody" comes in a form of the ICS Keyboard - this keyboard has been ripped (or perhaps themed) after the original ICS one, featuring:

  • Multitouch keyboard
  • User dictionary, built-in dictionary
  • Configurable auto correction
  • Redesigned and optimized keyboard layout and style
  • Speech to text (select languages only)
  • Custom vibration intensity (haptic feedback)
  • Long press "Enter" key to bring up smiley alternatives
  • Long press on "/" key in URL mode to bring up domains

No root is needed to use this keyboard and you can grab it later from the links at the end of the post. Lets move on to the last of the goodies.

Remember the ICS Phase Beam live wallpaper? The one that comes with ICS? The folks at Vectors & Pixels Indiegames has just released a FREE lite version of the Live Wallpaper which looks awesome and you just have to try this out. It looks and feels just like the one in ICS and there's also a paid version with more options.

You can grab both the ICS Keyboard & ICS Phase Beam live wallpaper from the links below:
