Google has just gave everyone an early Christmas present - the Android 4.0 AKA Ice Cream Sandwich source code has just been released to the Android AOSP directory! What does this mean? It simply means that modders such as CyanogenMod can start work on bringing ICS to your handset (including officially unsupported ones such as the Nexus One) and also allow manufacturers to start work on bringing ICS to their own lineup of handsets and tablets.
This is an unexpected surprise as the full source code was released weeks earlier than anticipated, even earlier than the officially release of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus handset. With Christmas just around the corner, lets hope some manufacturers give us a nice surprise on or before Xmas day.
